Woman found dead inside bathroom in Assam

A woman was allegedly found dead inside the bathroom of her residence at the New Dirial Tea Estate in Assam’s Duliajan in the wee hours today.

The deceased has been identified as Basanti Majhi wife of Rajiv Gowala.

Injury marks on her head and neck were also found, said police.

Accordingly, the Police have initiated an investigation into the incident and suspected it was a murder.

Although they had not yet discovered any clues, police detained her husband Rajiv Gowal and her father-in-law for questioning.

Meanwhile, the body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

Basanti Majhi married to Rajiv Gowala just three months ago said police.
