Dubai-based Epygen Biotech to invest Rs 100 cr in Tripura

Dubai-based biotech firm Epygen Biotech Pvt Limited has expressed interest to make an investment of Rs 100 crore in Tripura’s fast developing biotech space.
Debayan Ghosh, CMD of Epygen Biotech Pvt Limited, met Chief Minister Manik Saha on the sidelines of the Science-20 Conference of G20 held in Agartala recently and discussed the proposal.
According to people privy to the meeting, CMD Ghosh and CM Saha discussed the investment proposal at length. The Rs 100 crore investment in phases to create facilities for Biotech companies, including manufacturing units of industrial and pharmaceutical products in the state.
The investment is likely to be made to set up the first specialised bio-technology park of the northeast in Tripura.
Ghosh is a scientist-industrialist of Indian-origin who hails from Tripura.
