Manipur: Student appearing for Class 12 exam shot dead, second incident in 3 days

Seigunlal Misao was a student of Damdei Christian College, Taloulong.

In a shocker from Manipur, a Class 12 student who was appearing in the ongoing board exams was shot dead by unidentified miscreants in Kangpokpi district. The deceased student has been identified as 17 year old Seigunlal Misao.

As per inputs, the student was shot dead by 2-bike borne assailants late last evening just outside his residence.

Seigunlal Misao was a student of Damdei Christian College, Taloulong.

Meanwhile, irate locals have blocked the NH-39 at Motbung area demanding justice.

The attackers are still on the run and further probe into the matter is still underway.

On the other the Kuki Students Organisation, Sadar Hills has vehemently condemned the incident and assured fighting tooth and nail for the cause of justice.

In a statement issued, by the KSO Sadar Hills, the students organization stated, “The merciless murder of (L) Seigunlal Misao is an unpardonable crime, defying all ethics and morals. Such acts of barbarism can only hamper peace and harmony, causing unrest in the minds of the citizens. The Kuki Students Organisation-Sadar Hills, therefore, demands that the culprits of the cold blood murder must be brought to justice at the earliest.”

This is the second incident of a shootout in the state in a span of 3 days. On March 24, in a sensational incident, a man was shot dead by another man when the former had tried to attack the shooter’s family with an axe at their home.

The incident took place at Changangei Uchekon under Lamphel Police Station in Imphal West District.
