Khalistani sympathizer Amritpal Singh’s uncle arrested; being brought to Assam’s Dibrugarh

As the crackdown against fugitive Amritpal Singh intensifies, the Punjab Police have arrested the uncle of the Khalistani sympathizer and is bringing him to Assam’s Dibrugarh.

This was confirmed by Sukhchain Singh Gill, IGP Punjab Police.

Harjeet Singh, uncle, close aide of fugitive Amritpal Singh and the second in command after Amritpal for the pro-Khalistan movement is the 5th person to be brought to Assam after the crackdown against the Khalistani sympathizer in Punjab began on Saturday, March 18.

“NSA (National Security Act) has been invoked against the five people (being sent to Dibrugarh) who were arrested,” the Punjab IGP further informed.

Earlier on Sunday (yesterday), in a big development, 4 Khalistani activists and close aides of Amritpal, the self-styled preacher, were brought to Dibrugarh via a special Air Force aircraft and lodged at the Dibrugarh Central Jail. The 4 close aides of Amritpal Singh currently lodged at the Dibrugarh Central Jail, are Sarabjeet Singh Kalsi, Bhagwant Singh, Gurmeet Singh Gill and Basant Singh.

However, it is still not known as to why the aides of Amritpal Singh have been brought to Assam. The police is still tight lipped about the matter.
