In a major breakthrough, a team of 5th Assam Rifles Seized Contraband Drugs WY/ Yaba Tablets worth more than 10 crores in the international market at Moreh Ward No.5 Muslim Basti Near Indo-Myanmar Border Pillar 79 on 13 March 2023. The total weight of the bag seized weight 20.625 kgs
The team of 5th Assam Rifles posted near the IMBP 79 were performing daily routine duty along the Indo-Myanmar Border when a person on a Kenbo Bike came across the border from Myanmar towards the Indian Border. The Assam Rifles challenge to stop the bike near the Border who is trying to cross illegally. The person on the Kenbo Bike drop a Bag and ran away back to Myanmar, seeing the Indian Border Guarding Forces.
On search of the Bag, 18 Big Package, 4 Small Medium size packet and 9 Small size Package containing of WY Tablets were found. The Assam Rifles team apprehended the WY Tablets and later handed over to Moreh Police Station for further investigation. According to the Assam Rifles, the WY Tablets which were apprehended by 5th Assam Rifles and seized by Moreh Police weight 20.625kgs containing 2.25 Lakhs pieces of WY Tablets, which might worth more than 10 Crores Rupees in the International Market.
