Rubbishing the exit polls, Congress leader Sudip Roy Barman said that no exit poll was conducted in any of the polling booths and the exit poll results was just to
The Tripura Congress on Monday criticised the exit polls that predicted a clean sweep for the BJP for a second term in Tripura and said that the BJP would not cross the single digit.
“This vote was for a change, against the misrule of the party in power as people of the state seek for peace and harmony. Youths have voted for their bright future against the present government while teachers, employees, and pensioners voted against the bluff and deprivation against that this government like the workers and farmers who have also voted against the deprivation.
“Development had ceased in this state during the past five years period because development is possible only when the general law and order is normal. People have been living with fear as there has been no democracy in Tripura, the constitution had failed as lawlessness was existing here under this government. People voted to restore their democratic rights. After analysis of all these factors we have no doubt that the ruling party will not cross the single digit,” senior Tripura Congress leader and 5-time Congress MLA from Agartala, Sudip Roy Barman said reacting to the exit polls.
“Crores of rupees have been spent by the ruling party to buy slots on electronic channels both national and local in order to mislead the common public and encourage the BJP supporters in the name of exit poll results. We request the public of the state not to believe the exit poll,” Roy Barman said addressing the media yesterday.
Tripura Congress president Birajit Sinha and former MLA Asish Kumar Saha too was present at the press conference.
Doubting the legitimacy of the exit poll results Roy Barman said, “No exit poll was conducted in any of the polling booths. This exit poll result is totally baseless and made to encourage the BJP workers for another three days in order to use them for all wrong activities and so that they can create pressure on the counting agents of the opposition.”
He urged his party supporters not to subscribe to these fabricated baseless results as the channels are paid huge amounts for telecasting them.
