Former Rajya Sabha MP Sushri Anusuiya Uikye was sworn in today as the 17th governor of Manipur
Former Rajya Sabha MP Sushri Anusuiya Uikye has been sworn in as Governor of Manipur at the Dubar hall of Raj Bhavan in Imphal today.
Acting Chief justice MV Muralidaran of the High Court of Manipur administered the oath of office to Anusuiya Uiley.
The occasion was graced by Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren Singh, Speaker of Manipur Assembly Th Satyabrata Singh, Council of Ministers, Rajya Sabha MP Maharaja Leishemba Sanajaoba, State Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Kumar led other officials, senior citizens and representatives of political parties were present during the swearing in ceremony.
Speaking to Northeast Live, Sushri Anusuiya Uikye thanked President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the opportunity to serve as the governor of Manipur.
She also expressed joy over the beauty of the Northeast.
“I will try my best to bring development in the state, solve people’s problems and bring development in the education and employment sector” the governor said.
She also asked the people of Manipur for support to develop Manipur.
