Vimal from Porbandar had met Rita through a matrimonial site. Six months into the marriage Vimal got to know that Rita is wanted for fraud, murder, theft and hunting
A man from Gujarat’s Porbandar who had married a woman from Assam got the worst shock of his life when six months after his marriage he found out that the woman of his dreams was actually a wanted criminal from Assam and his entire relationship was based on a bunch of lies.
Vimal Karia met Rita Das from Guwahati, Assam, on a matrimonial site and the duo started interacting. Soon after, the couple decided to get married. Prior to the wedding, Vimal asked Rita to produce her divorce certificate because her profile mentioned that she is divorced.
However, Rita smartly managed to divert that question by telling him that her earlier marriage was held in a panchayat.
The duo tied the knot in Ahmedabad and were living happily. But just six months later, Rita told Vimal that she had to go to Assam to deal with some land issue. Days went by and Rita did not return.
Instead, Vimal received a call from Rita’s lawyer. The lawyer told him that there was a case registered against Rita and that he had to help her with the bail money of Rs 1 lakh.
It is then that Vimal discovered his marriage was built on lies. When he saw Rita’s court papers he noticed that her name was not Rita Das but Rita Chauhan. Vimal tried to ask his wife about this but Rita stopped answering his calls and blocked him.
Vimal then did a Google search about his wife and to his utter shock and horror he found out that the woman whom he had married just six months back was wanted in cases of fraud, theft, murder, and hunting. Additionally, she was previously married to a serial car thief named Anil Chauhan. Anil, according to media reports, is currently in prison.
Vimal has moved the court seeking annulment of this marriage with Rita.
