The Delhi Police has arrested a man for allegedly killing a 22-year-old woman and storing her body parts in a fridge in his dhaba on the outskirts of Mitraon village in Najafgarh.
According to the sources, the deceased, identified as Nikki Yadav, was strangulated to death near Kashmiri Gate ISBT. The accused allegedly used the data cable of his mobile in his car to strangulate the deceased.
Following the incident, the accused, identified as Sahil Gehlot (26), hid the body parts in the fridge of his dhaba located on the outskirts of Mitraon village. He was arrested on Tuesday after the police found the woman’s body parts inside the fridge at the dhaba.
The man and the woman were allegedly in a relationship. The accused allegedly killed the woman after she rejected his marriage proposal. The police are interrogating the accused for further legal action.
The man, according to the police, married another woman on the same day he murdered his live-in partner.
The case closely resembles the Shraddha Walkar murder case, where a 27-year-old woman was strangulated by her live-in partner Aaftab Amin Poonawala. He later chopped her body into 35 pieces and stored it in a 300-litre refrigerator before throwing its parts in a Delhi forest.
The Delhi Police has filed a 6,636-page chargesheet in the Shraddha murder case. The chargesheet was filed within 75 days after the case was registered.
The gory details about Shraddha Walkar’s murder shook the entire nation after the Delhi Police arrested Aaftab on November 12 last year. The autopsy report of the bones of Shraddha Walkar revealed that her body was chopped into 35 pieces with a saw-like object.
The key breakthrough came when 13 decomposed body parts, mostly pieces of bones, were retrieved from the forests of South Delhi. Aaftab, in his confession, told police that the couple had been at odds since moving to Delhi and he killed her after an argument.
