Kakraban-Shalgara Constituency & Candidates contesting the 2023 Assembly Elections

Kakraban-Salgarah is an assembly constituency in Tripura. In 2018 CPIM candidate Ratan Kumar Bhowmik won the seat by defeating BJP's Jitendra Majumder

Kakraban-Shalgara Legislative Assembly constituency is one of the 60 Legislative Assembly constituencies of Tripura. It is part of the Gomati district and is reserved for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes. Kakraban village is located in the Kakraban subdivision of South Tripura district. It is situated 11km away from the district headquarters in Kakraban.

Communist Party Of India (Marxist) candidate Ratan Kumar Bhowmik is the sitting MLA of the constituency. He won the seat for the party in the 2018 Assembly elections with 24,835 votes by defeating BJP candidate Jitendra Majumder by a margin of 3,767 votes. He also won the 2013 Assembly elections with 24,947 votes by defeating Congress candidate Rajib Samaddar with a margin of 7,190 votes.
