221 persons arrested in Assam’s Barak valley in child marriage case

A total of 221 persons have been arrested as part of the Assam Police’s mega crackdown against child marriage in Assam’s Barak valley.
The arrests came against 243 cases that were registered in the three Barak Valley districts. 72 persons were arrested respectively from Karimganj and Cachar, while 77 persons were arrested from Hailakandi.
