Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has rejected the idea of Naga Autonomous Territorial Council as part of Naga peace accord.

The remark comes at a time when various civil society groups in the state are demanding the governments, both in the state and the centre to come clear on the content of the Naga peace accord.

N Biren Singh reaffirming the state government’s stand on the ongoing Naga Peace Process said that the creation of Autonomous Naga Territorial Council is not acceptable and is a threat to the oneness of the state.

Speaking at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat Conference Hall, he further added that the state government has informed the centre and cautioned that the state government should be informed prior taking any decision on the matter.
