Tripura Polls: Security forces gear up to ensure peaceful elections

The operation is part of confidence building measure under Mission Zero Poll Violence in Tripura declared by the office of the CEO Tripura.
The Tripura Police as well as paramilitary forces have geared up to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections. Hundreds of security personnel took part in a massive patrolling exercised in the Town Bordwali constituency alongwith top officials of the administration and the Tripura Police.
The operation is part of confidence building measure under Mission Zero Poll Violence in Tripura declared by the office of the CEO Tripura.
Large numbers of the state police troopers along with large contingent of central paramilitary force flag marched aiming towards area domination and bringing confidence among the population so that they come out in large number to cast their ballots and without any fear.
It may be mentioned that during the Election Commission of India (ECI)’s 2-day visit to the poll bound state since January 11, the Opposition parties voiced concerns about the prevailing law and order situation and alleged that since the time BJP came to power in Tripura in March 2018 there has been a lot of political violence.
The ECI delegation led by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, had met representatives of various political parties including the ruling BJP and its ally IPFT, opposition CPIM, Congress, TMC, and CPI.
