Renowned drummer Sam Shullai passed away in Shillong, Meghalaya

Renowned drummer Sam Shullai passed away in Shillong, Meghalaya. Shullai played for singers such as Lou Majaw and Rudy Wahlang and bands such as 4th Element. Having performed at national and international venues, and events, 4th Element has evolved a set list comprising covers and originals.

Shullai was an alumnus of St. Anthony’s College, Shillong.

Meghalaya Chief Minister condoled the demise of the heartthrob of Shillong, Sam Shullai. Taking to Twitter, Conrad Sangma wrote, “Mr. Sam Shullai not only played the drums into all music lovers hearts but was the heartbeat of every band and artist he made music with. Very sad to learn about the demise of this great musician. My condolences to his family, friends and fans. May he Rest In Peace.”

Popular singer of Meghalaya and a fellow former artiste, Lou Majaw prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and shared a post of Bremley W B Lyngdoh UNDP Consultant, in social media that read, “Journey well to the stars Sam Shullai and thank you so much for your contribution and for rocking with us and Lou Majaw at St. Anthony’s School your presence will be missed here on Earth!”

“Deeply Saddened by the news of the demise of the Legendary Drummer, Ma Sam Shullai . I had the honour to perform with him a couple of times & what can I say, he’s ultimately the best. Ma Sam, we will miss you. Thank you for your Art. God bless Amy & Nicky and family, God bless 4th element May God give you strength,” wrote singer and composer Lamphang Manik Syiemlieh.
