Guwahati: 2 thieves shot as they tried to flee from police custody

The Guwahati police resorted to firing to stop the thieves from escaping. Both the thieves’ sustained bullet injuries in their legs.

The Guwahati police on Friday shot two miscreants who tried to flee from the police custody. Both the accused identified as Gaurav Pal and Mukesh Kumar tried to escape from the Geetanagar police custody.
The Guwahati police resorted to firing to stop the thieves from escaping. Both the thieves’ sustained bullet injuries in their leg.
Both are now admitted in the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and are undergoing treatment.
Speaking to the media the Superintendent of GMCH said that the injured, Mukesh Kumar, 31 and Gaurav Pal, 30 were brought to the hospital by the Geetanagar police at 2:30 AM. He also informed that both have sustained bullet injuries in the legs. However, both are stable now and are undergoing treatment.
