Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a crucial high-level virtual meet to review Covid situation in the country amid the surge in Covid cases in China and other countries. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Health Minsiter Mansuk Mandaviya and NITI Aayog CEO P Iyer among others attended the meet. The BF.7 is the same as BS.5.2.1.7 which is a sub-lineage of the Omicron. India reported four cases of the BF.7 Omicron sub-variant.

• During the high-level meeting on Covid 19, PM Modi was informed that there is adequate availability with regard to medicines, vaccines and hospital beds. He advised regular monitoring of the availability and prices of essential medicines: PMO

• Audit Covid-specific facilities to ensure readiness of hospital infra, including oxygen cylinders’ ventilators, staffing: PM to states
