4 Women Boxers to represent Sikkim at 6th Elite National Women’s Boxing Championship

The boxers are Yasika Rai (48 kg), Pemlaki Bhutia (57 kg), Purnima Subba (54 kg), and Sharmila Rai (66 kg)

Four Women Boxers from Sikkim — Yasika Rai, Pemlaki Bhutia, Purnima Subba, and Sharmila Rai have been selected for 6th Elite National Women’s Boxing Championship taking place in Bhopal from December 19 to 27.

In a press statement, the Sikkim Amateur Boxing Association (SABA) said that the four women boxers were selected based on their performance at the selection trials to represent the state at the championship.

Sandhya Gurung is travelling with the team as the coach and Gracey Rai is the team manager. The state team reached Bhopal on Monday.

SABA has extended its best wishes to the team.

The championship is a calendar event of the Boxing Federation of India in association with the Madhya Pradesh Boxing Association, the release said.
