The Digboi police have filed a suo moto case against pro-talk ULFA leader Jiten Dutta.

The development comes after the leader in an inflammatory speech warned of taking up arms again if the Centre goes ahead with its decision of amending the Citizenship Amendment Bill.

The police have filed a case under 124(A) of the Indian Penal Code. As such the ULFA-progressive leader will have to appear before the Digboi police.

Meanwhile, reacting to this Jiten Dutta said that he had spoken only for the sake of the indigenous people.

Earlier the Kakopathar camp of the ULFA-Progressive which includes senior ULFA leaders like Jiten Dutta, Prabal Neog, Antu Chaodang, Vijay Chinses had appealed the insurgent outfits of the Northeastern region to come out and protest against the Bill.

The ULFA-progressive is also vehemently opposing the Bill alongwith other organisations and political parties of the state.
