A massive fire broke out in the heart of Shillong in the famous sweet shop Delhi Mistan Bhandar in Police Bazaar at around 2:30 PM in the afternoon today.
According to reports the fire erupted due to overheating of the greasy chimney. However, much before the fire got a chance to spread it was doused off effectively by the workers and the two fire brigades that were rushed in immediately.
No extensive damage to property has been reported. Delhi Mistan bhandar is famous for its jalebi and is one of the most favourite destinations of the people of Shillong.
