Four arrested in anti-drugs and anti-liquor operation in Agartala

Agartala Police arrested total Four people for their alleged involvement in the trade of illegal liquor and drugs. The arrested will be produced in court today.
Speaking to Northeast Live, Officer-in-charge of West Agartala police station, Jayanta Kumar Dey, informed that the successful operation was carried out following inputs from sources. Dey stated that during the raids 108 bottles of liquor worth around Rs 45-50 thousand were seized, and two persons have been arrested.
The raids were conducted as part of the anti-drugs and anti-liquor operation of the West Tripura district police.
During the raids in several areas, police destroyed hundreds of bottles of country made liquor which were hidden and confiscated hundreds of foreign liquor bottles.
The operation was led by the Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Sadar Subdivision, Ajay Kumar Das along with other officials of West Agartala, East Agartala and Women police station.
The Police also raided several markets, parks, busy streets and areas where there are gatherings of anti-social, drug users and peddlers.
Police informed that they shall continue the anti-liquor and anti-drugs operations as these items are directly responsible for increasing crime in the city. They also said that such operations increase public confidence in police and also decreases crime.
