Run-up to Meghalaya Polls: Senior BJP Leaders Mawrie, Shullai to meet Assam CM Today, Finalise Poll Strategy

Three MLAs who resigned from their respective parties on Nov 28 too will meet CM Sarma
Meghalaya BJP is giving the final shape to its poll strategy in Guwahati this evening (November 30). BJP state President Ernest Mawrie and Minister in the Conrad Sangma Cabinet, Sanbor Shullai would be meeting Assam Chief Minister and NEDA Convenor Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati this evening.
Three MLAs — Ferlin C.A. Sangma and Benedict R Marak from the ruling NPP and H.M Shangpliang from TMC who had resigned on November 28, would also meet CM Sarma this evening along with Mawrie.
Informed sources told Northeast Live that Phulbari MLA S. G. Esmatur Mominin of NPP is all set to ditch NPP and join TMC.
Earlier in the day today, 40 members from different political parties joined Meghalaya TMC, the party said.
The political scene in Meghalaya is heating up ahead of the Assembly polls to be held in the first two months next year. The term of the current Assembly (60 seats) is scheduled to end on March 15, 2023.
