Assam Police busts Terror Funding module; 3 businessmen arrested

3 businessmen arrested in Eastern Assam's Charaideo district for allegedly being involved in terror funding cases.
The Assam Police has intensified the crackdown on the terror funding module in the state. Acting on intelligence inputs, the police have arrested 3 businessmen from Eastern Assam’s Charaideo district. As per inputs, the businessmen hailing from Namtola area were allegedly involved in terror funding, thereby assisting the ULFA-I to carry out acts of terror in the region.
the three businessmen have been booked under Section 40 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention (UAP) Act and investigation into the matter is on. The three businessmen are Manohar Thakur, Lal Bahadur Thakur and Kader Shah. The police official also stated that the trio had been arrested based upon statement being given by Tingmon Konyak, a Ulfa (I) linkman who was arrested by the police recently on charges of extorting money for the militant outfit.
