Meghalaya: 3 drug peddlers from Manipur arrested; heroin worth Rs 14 cr recovered

Meghalaya: Inter-state drugs smuggling racket busted in Ri Bhoi district. High grade heroin recovered from bus.

Meghalaya Police has busted an inter-state drugs smuggling racket. Heroin worth over rs 14 crore was recovered from a passenger bus coming from Manipur, after it was intercepted at Mawdaron Saiden under Nongpoh police station in Ri Bhoi district.

3 drug peddlers hailing from Manipur were arrested in connection with the recovery of the drugs consignment.

The trio have been identified as Rashijuddin, Saddam Hussain and Iqbal Hussain hailing from Bishnupur district. Upon frisking of the bus 158 boxes of high-grade heroin weighing 1.85 kg was recovered from the possession of the trio.
