The Mizoram election department has put the ongoing process of deletion of names of Bru voters from the state’s poll register on hold following their enrolment in Tripura’s electoral rolls.
According to the State Joint Chief Electoral Officer David Lian-sanglura Pachuau, the process was halted since a thorough revision of the state voters’ lists was underway.
The final publication of the electoral roll is expected to be finished by January 13, 2023, he said, adding that the draft electoral roll would be released tomorrow as part of the ongoing intense revision of the state voter lists.
