The AMIRDA also appealed to the IOCL to uphold their part of the agreement and issue work orders at the earliest.

IOCL Retail Outlet Dealers of Manipur today staged a sit-in agitation at Imphal’s Sangakpham decrying non-issuance of work orders for tank trucks purchased for road transportation of bulk petroleum products or branded fuels for dealers or consumers.

Speaking to Northeast Live, AMIRDA Advisor O Nabakishore said that IOCL issued a notice inviting expression of interest in April 2021 for road transportation of bulk petroleum products/branded fuels for dealers/consumers but has failed to uphold their side of the agreement.

He added that several retail outlet dealers and other applicants who purchased new tank trucks obtained licenses, and are now unable to repay the Loans due to lack of work.

Advisor lamented that almost a year and a half have passed but work orders have not been issued yet.

The AMIRDA also appealed to the IOCL to uphold their part of the agreement and issue work orders at the earliest.

The dealers further cautioned that in case of failure by the company to positively respond to their demand, they would resort to further agitation that may even include shutting down oil depots. It was also informed that IOCL head officials will visit Imphal on November 7 in this regard.
