Poll Fever: BJP Mahila Morcha prez visits Shillong

Today BJP’s national president of the Mahila Morcha, Vanathi Srinivasan visited Shillong and met with party workers.

As Meghalaya is set to go to polls next year, the BJP is already in preparation mode and is preparing the groundwork with its party workers.

Talking about the party’s preparations and strategies, Srinivasan said that the party is encouraging more women to contest the state elections next year.

Asked if the party was contemplating reserving some percentage of tickets for women, Srinivasan said that compared with other parties the BJP is always giving a good number of women candidates. Vanathi Srinivasan further said that the party is training women karyakartas on ensuring victory for the party.

Meanwhile, Meghalaya BJP chief Ernest Mawrie also talked about the party’s preparations in terms of preparing for the polls next year.
