Meghalaya BJP has apprised the Ministry of Home Affairs about the recent law and order problems in the state capital Shillong.
Revealing this, BJP State president, Ernest Mawrie stated that it is the duty of the State Government to handle the law and order situation.
Mawrie termed the violence during FKJGP rally a total failure of the Home department, administration and Police.
Ernest Mawrie also raised concerns that the tourism sector will take a beating with such frequent instances of law and order problems in the city.

The State BJP Chief further stated frequent law and order problems in the capital have led to fear psychosis among the tourists which in turn affects the state.
Meanwhile, office bearers of the Shillong All Faiths Forum, after due consultations have condemned all forms of violence and hostility in society.
In a statement, SAFF said unemployment continues to be a burden on the youth in the state, but violence is not the answer.
Furthermore, SAFF added that the interference of certain individuals from outside the state trying to aggravate the situation with unpleasant comments and advised them to refrain from indulging in such harmful approaches.
It may be mentioned that chaotic scenes were witnessed in Shillong today during a rally of the Federation of Khasi, Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP ) on October 28.

Passersby were allegedly attacked by a few miscreants who were purportedly part of the rally that passed through the streets of Shillong.
The FKJGP central executive committee had organised the public rally-cum-meeting to raise the issue of the unemployment problem in the state.
The rally was started from Motphran and culminated at Madan Iewrynghep (Fire Brigade) followed by a public meeting.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sangma informed that one person has been arrested and three FIRs have already been lodged in connection with the case.
Informing that a large number of miscreants who were purportedly part of the rally have been identified, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma assured that stern action will be taken against the perpetrators.
