Assam: 7 German nationals detained

As many as 7 German nationals have been detained by the Assam police for allegedly indulging in missionary activities. Probe underway.

Assam police continues to crack the whip on alleged illegal conversion bid by foreigners coming to the state on tourist visa.

As many as 7 German nationals have been detained by the Assam police for allegedly indulging in missionary activities while visiting the state on tourist visa. The German nationals have been detained for violation of visa regulations.

As per inputs, the 7 German nationals who were in the state since October 21st were allegedly indulging in proselytizing activities in Karbi Anglong.

All 7 were detained when they were on their way to a resort in Kaziranga from Rangagora. The 7 German nationals have been identified as Christian Reiser, Michael Erich Schaper, Merten Asmus, Cornelia Von, Hinrich Luppen Von, Christa OLearius, and Lisa Aimee Bloem.

The fresh detentions come after deportation of 3 Swedish nationals allegedly involved in proselytizing activities in the state.
