Manipur: Hill District Badminton Championship kickstarts

The 20th Hill Districts Badminton Championship, 2022 was organized at the Multi-Purpose Indoor Hall in Senapati, Manipur, and hosted by the Senapati District Badminton Association.

The event was attended by MLA L. Dikho as the chief guest along with Brig. P.S. Arora, Commander of 22 Sector, Assam Rifles, and I.K. Muivah along with other CSO leaders.

Speaking at the event, MLA L. Dikho lauded HDBAM for the great achievements they have been doing to date. He stated that Senapati was the weakest at the start of the championship. However, players had improved magnificently within a few years.

He further said that Sports is very essential for people as it keeps people healthy and is also a very big industry for the youth.

Meanwhile, more than 400 players participated in the event in different categories and genders which will continue till October 27.

Hill districts of Ukhrul, Chandel, Kangpokpi, Noney, Senapati, Tamenglong, Churachandpur, Kamjong, and Tengnoupal are taking part in the championship.
