China: Xi Jinping gets 3rd term as President

Xi Jinping will not have any woman member in his top team. For the 1st time in 25 yrs, no woman member has been inducted into the top team.

Xi Jinping has created history by getting re-elected for the record 3rd term in power as Chinese President.
69-year old Xi was elected as General Secretary of the Communist Party for a 3rd five-year tenure by the new 7-member Standing Committee. Xi was first elected in 2012 and will be completing his 10-year tenure this year.

As per reports, Xi Jinping will not have any woman member in his top team. This is for the first time in 25 years that no woman member has been inducted into the top team.

The Political Bureau elected a seven-member Standing Committee, which in turn elected Xi for a third five-year term as General Secretary.

Many see Xi Jingping’s election as the President as a prospect of ruling China for life.
