Congress Presidential polls: It’s Kharge Vs Tharoor

Over 9000 Cong leaders constituting the electoral college will elect the new AICC Chief. Veteran Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge is in the fray against Shashi Tharoor.

The stage is all set for election to the post of AICC president. Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Shashi Tharoor are in the fray for the top post of the grand old party.

Over 9,000 Pradesh Congress Committee delegates will vote in a secret ballot to pick the party chief.
Voting would also take place at the AICC headquarters in New Delhi and at over 65 polling booths across the country.

Meanwhile, the Manipur Congress too has geared up for the election.

Assistant Pradesh Returning Officer (in charge Manipur) Iftakar Ahmed said that there are altogether 54 PCC members who will be casting votes in AICC presidential elections.

The polling will begin from 10 am and will continue till 4 pm while counting of votes will be on October 19.
