Manipur: Shutdown disrupts normal life

Normal life severly disrupted in different parts of Manipur. Opposing 'forced merger' with India, the rebel groups had called for the bandh.

Normal life came to a standstill owing to the shutdown called by different militant groups. The shutdown has been called opposing ‘forced merger’ of Manipur into India on this very day in 1949.

The streets wore deserted look while business establishments downned their shutters. Banks, as well as educational institutes too remained shut.
