Mizoram: Smuggling of exotic wild animals; 3 held

The Mizoram Police have intensified it's operations to stop smuggling of exotic wild animals. Over 140 exotic animals recovered.
The Mizoram Police has busted a racket involved in smuggling of exotic wild animals. 3 persons were arrested with 140 species of wild animals rescued from their possession in Champhai district bordering Myanmar.
The rescued animals include 30 tortoises, 2 monkeys, 2 Marmoset monkeys, 22 pythons, 18 Sumatran Water Monitor Lizards, 55 hatchlings of crocodiles, 4 Flame powerbids, 4 Servel cats, 2 Marmosets and a Albino Wallaby.
Those arrested have been identified as Lalremruata of Champhai Vengthlang, Tinkhuma of Champhai Venglai and E.Lalmuanpuia of Champhai Venglai. Three vehicles used in transporting wild animals were also seized.
