The big move comes after the statements of the eyewitnesses have so far not been recorded until October 12.

The Additional District Magistrate of Majuli will be hearing the death case of young artist Tejaswita Boruah on October 19.

The big move comes after the statements of the eyewitnesses have so far not been recorded until October 12.

As such, eyewitnesses have been asked to record their statements before October 19 at the Magistrate’s office between 12 pm and 3 PM.

It may be recalled here that Tejaswita tragically passed away on October 5, moments after performing in a Naamghar on the occasion of Srimanta Sankardev’s birth anniversary.

Tejaswita had reportedly complained of uneasiness after which her performance was stopped midway. Although she was rushed to the Garmur Civil Hospital, the doctors declared her to be brought dead.

Subsequently, the superintendent of the hospital Amulya Goswami was suspended following allegations of negligence on part of the doctors in the hospital which may have contributed to her death.

The Assam government had also ordered a probe into the circumstances of Tejaswita’s untimely demise.
