Ernest Mawrie and UDP general secretary Jemino Mawthoh confirmed that the parties will go solo in the assembly elections.
The MDA alliance in the hill state seems set to disintegrate by the time the assembly elections take place early next year with coalition partners deciding to go solo in the polls.
Talking to Northeast Live editor-in-chief Wasbir Hussain on the show Northeast Tonight, Meghalaya BJP president Ernest Mawrie and UDP general secretary Jemino Mawthoh confirmed that the parties will go solo in the assembly elections.
Not only this the state BJP president also stated that the saffron party will contest all 60 seats next year.
Mawrie also informed that the state BJP is awaiting a nod from the party’s high command to pull out of the MDA alliance.
Jemino Mawthoh maintained that it was too early to talk about post-poll alliances, however, the UDP is confident of a good show this election in which it has decided to go solo.
