HM Amit Shah assures to lift AFSPA from entire NE if permanent peace returns

BJP today harped on the development agenda in Assam and the entire Northeast. The top BJP leadership lambasted the Congress for misrule.
Union Home Minsiter Amit Shah today assured that the Centre will permanently lift AFSPA from the entire Northeast only if permanent peace returns to the region. Launching a scathing attack, Amit Shah said that the Congress had promised to lift AFSPA as part of it’s appeasement policy. Shah in this context said that BJP will repeal AFSPA only after permanent peace returns to the region. Amit Shah clearly rubbished Congress’s allegations, and said that BJP never believes in appeasement policy. Shah referred to the fact that 60% areas of Assam are free from the ambit of AFSPA due to the able leadership of Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Shah said that 7 districts in Nagaland and 6 districts in Manipur are under AFSPA, while Tripura and Meghalaya are totally free from AFSPA. Shah said that it is only the BJP which is relentlessly working for bringing in permanent peace in entire Northeast. Highlighting the peace push of the Centre, Shah said that over 9000 youths have joined the mainstream since 2014 till this year, while he mentioned about the Bodo peace accord and the Karbi Peace Accord.
Meanwhile, Home minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda also lashed out at the Congress for putting Assam and the entire Northeast on a back-foot as far as development is concerned. Both Shah and Nadda blamed the Congress for misrule stating that insurgency had flourished during the grand old party’s rule.
If that was not all, Amit Shah and JP Nadda also blamed the Congress for ushering an era of bandh, blockades and unrest. While inaugurating the newly set Assam BJP headquarter in Guwahati, Amit Shah said that since Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister in 2014, Assam as well as the entire Northeast has excelled in terms of development.
The union home minister further added that the gap created by the Centre in the last 70 years has reduced drastically and that Assam as well as the Northeast has come to the mainstream. Shah also added that the promise of 1 lakhs jobs to the youths of Assam will definitely be fulfilled besides announcing that a new Forensic Science University would be set up soon.
Meanwhile, BJP national president JP Nadda lauded Chief Himanta Biswa Sarma for spearheading the setting up of the newly constructed state of the art party headquarter, which is equipped with social media centre, research centre, media centre, library besides other amenities. During his speech, Nadda said BJP has to attain new heights in the regions and maintained that it is the only party with liberal thoughts and secular in character.
The BJP national president questioned if the Congress has any ethics left in it. Lauding Prime minister Modi’s leadership, JP Nadda said that Assam as well as the entire Northeast has transformed in diverse sectors education, health infra, connectivity.
On the other hand, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma heaped praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, AMit Shah, JP Nadda as well as other party leaders for contributing to the party’s growing success. Sarma said that Prime Minister Modi led Centre has taken a historic step by banning PFI to help in preserving the indigenous culture and populace. Sarma added that the government will remove fundamentalism from Assam as well as the entire nation. The Assam Chief Minister also exuded confidence of winning all the 12 Lok Sabha seats in 2024. Besides, Himanta Biswa Sarma in terms of consolidating the party’s base in Assam said the offices will be set up in every mandal for strengthening party’s status from the grassroot level.
