Rupin Sharma, DG Prisons said the idea came when the department installed the Biometric attendance machines at various places.
In order to provide a comprehensive attendance management system in Prisons of Nagaland, the Advisor for Prisons, Printing & Stationary H Haiying on Monday launched the Prison Staff Attendance app.
The Prison Staff Attendance is a mobile app along with an admin portal that aims to provide a comprehensive attendance management system that can make processes hassle-free and provide a seamlessly integrated system for monitoring and tracking the employees’ attendance.
Rupin Sharma, DG Prisons said the idea came when the department installed the Biometric attendance machines at various places. However, the machines had several problems and it was at this point when the concept came about developing an app with a QR-based code attendance for all the jail establishments across the state.
He further added, that in order to ensure that the employees do not manipulate or bluff the system, the app was developed with unique features such as the QR location tracker where the app can track the check-in or check-out locations.
Sharma also said that the app is already available on the play store and functioning in the District Jail Kohima.
On the other hand, Advisor Haiying lauded the department for bringing in such innovative ideas and for implementing various projects for the welfare of the jail inmates.
