The AITA is worried, that this segregation will bring in complications and irregularities in their salaries.

The All Integrated Teacher Association in Manipur is protesting against the segregation of teachers in the state as SAMAGRA and the Education Department.

The AITA is worried, that this segregation will bring in complications and irregularities in their salaries.

Notably, 3,480 Samagra teachers were integrated and absorbed into the Education Department after a Cabinet Decision on the 23rd of July back in 2020.

Before the integration, the Samagra teachers were funded by the center. After their integration, the teachers had been drawing their salaries from the Education Department.

The teachers are protesting against a letter issued by the Directorate of Education on the 12th of August directing all Zonal Education Officers, DDOs, and Head of Institutions to forward fund Proposals, segregating the teachers as SAMAGRA and Department.

Now the AITA stated the letter is confusing as the mentioned 3,480 SAMAGRA teachers are no longer SAMAGRA Teachers after their integration into the department of Education.

AITA also added the change of head will bring irregularities in salary similar to pre-Integration of the said teacher as their salaries were solely dependent on the funding from the Centre.
