KAM a democratic platform in Meghalaya has announced Wanpynhun Kharsyntiew as their candidate from 16-Shillong Constituency for the upcoming 2023 Assembly Elections.

Kharsyntiew is a resident of Malki and has been at the forefront of fighting for the rights of domestic workers. She has also been involved in a social movement working with domestic workers for the past 18 years.

Kharsyntiew said it has been 50 years of statehood but the Government of Meghalaya has not been able to come up with a law in favor of the unorganized sector workers.

Angela Rangad one of the candidates from KAM said that they will fight money power by their ideas. Rangad said nothing is impossible, if people understand that together, people can defeat the powers of corruption and criminality. She further added that they will not buy votes because a person’s vote is priceless.
