Child Rights Violation: Dibrugarh Taekwondo Assn comes under fire

The Assam State Commission For Protection Of Child Rights (ASCPCR) has requested the Dibrugarh DC and SP to initiate action.
In a shocking incident, the Dibrugarh District Taekwondo Association has come under fire for alleged gross violations of child rights during an event held in Duliajan.
The Assam State Commission For Protection Of Child Rights (ASCPCR) has requested the Dibrugarh DC and SP to initiate action against the Dibrugarh District Taekwondo Association and the organizers of the 37th All Assam State Taekwondo Championship 2022 held in Duliajan from Aug 17 to 20 on allegations of gross violations of children rights during the organization of the event.
In her letter, Dr Sunita Changkakati, Chairperson of the Commission said that the Commission is in receipt of reports that during the organization of the tournament, the organizers failed to provide the participating children with basic amenities like bedding, toilets, and food despite collecting a sufficient amount of funds for the purpose.
Speaking exclusively to Northeast Live, Dr Changakati further appealed for a speedy investigation into the matter and appropriate action against the guilty.
