Assam: Authorities clamps section 144 in Jatinga’s ‘suicide point’

There are many unexplained phenomena in this world. In India, there are several points that are considered mysterious and are beyond explanation.

One such place is Jatinga in Assam’s Dima Hasao district, which is considered a suicide point for birds.

This small village is quite unique as birds in large numbers commit suicide or dive down from the air straight to the ground killing themselves in the process.

Nobody knows why this happens, but this is in fact a phenomenon that happens year after year. And it is not just local birds, but even migratory birds engage in this so-called mass suicide of birds.

This unique phenomenon was witnessed yesterday night as people tried to witness this unique unnatural phenomenon.

The so-called mass suicide of birds was witnessed from about 11 pm till 1 in the morning. Amid dense fog, people gathered at certain points to witness this unique phenomenon as birds dove down from the skies straight to the ground.

Noteworthy here is that the authorities clamped section 144 in the area in a bid to avoid unnecessary crowding. The use of strong flashlights was also prohibited.
