Crackdown on militancy: Manipur Police arrests 3 PLA cadres

Meanwhile a woman member of the NRFM was also arrested by the joint team of Assam Rifles and Manipur police.

Continuing its crackdown on the PLA, the Manipur police along with the Assam Rifles arrested 3 more cadres of the outfit following a joint operation.

Among the arrested are a father-son duo and a woman cadre of NRFM.

Police sources said that acting on a tip off, the combined team launched a search operation at Wangoo Sabal Leikai area in Bishnupur District during which the 3 PLA cadres were arrested.

One hand grenade was also seized from the arrested PLA cadres.

According to the police, one of the arrested cadres was involved in the hand grenade attack on non-local workers inside a Sawombung Bridge Construction Worksite at Sawombung Thongkhong on the night of August 15.

Meanwhile a woman member of the NRFM was also arrested by the joint team of Assam Rifles and Manipur police.
