Centre working hard on ILP issue: MoS AK Mishra in Meghalaya

The Union Minister of State for Home Affairs also addressed the Militancy issue in Meghalaya ravaged by the porous border with Bangladesh.

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Kumar Mishra who is in Meghalaya said the Centre is working hard on the ILP issue in Meghalaya and a resolution is expected soon.

Addressing media persons during a felicitation program for eminent Muslims and other leaders who had joined the BJP, Mishra said the Centre is trying to find a solution regarding the ILP demand in Meghalaya while adding that the centre will address the concerns of indigenous people in the state.

Mishra said that the problem centre is trying to find a solution soon. He added in the last eight years centre has worked hard and whatever is left out will be resolved soon.

He also added that when things are in process, it is not feasible to disclose anything on the matter, however, he added when the plan is made or the policy is passed then it will be announced.

Meanwhile, on the demand for inclusion of Khasi and Garo languages in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution of India, Mishra said the Centre had come up with the new education policy and the prime minister has said that primary education will begin with the mother tongue.
