The Chief Minister yesterday stated that his government stands for a united Manipur and United India.
The row over the non-tabling of ADC draft bill 2021 refuses to die down in the state.
After a video of Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh allegedly speaking on the impracticality of tabling the ADC Bill 2021 went viral on social media platforms, the Chief Minister yesterday stated that his government stands for a united Manipur and United India.
Responding to a query by Northeast Live on the sidelines of the Patriots’ Day celebration in Imphal, CM N Biren Singh hinted that his government will not allow breaching of Manipur’s integrity.
It may be mentioned that the row over the ADC Bill 2021 has brought the hill-valley divide debate back to the fore with the social media in Manipur abuzz with posts that threaten to escalate things.
The developments during the recent ATSUM protest had prompted the State Government to suspend internet services for over 48 hours to ensure there is no escalation of things.
The ADC bill 2021 is being viewed by several CSOs in the Imphal valley as a bid to bifurcate power in the state. The Hill-based groups, however, see the bill as a step towards ensuring all-around development.
