The meeting focused mostly on projects under schemes like the Jal Jeevan Mission, SBM, PMKSY, and others.
Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti and Tribal Affairs Bisheswar Tudu held a review meeting yesterday with State Government officials on the implementation of various developmental works and Central schemes.
The meeting focused mostly on projects under schemes like the Jal Jeevan Mission, SBM, PMKSY, and others.
Tudu attended a presentation by the state government on the status of the projects in Shillong yesterday. However, when asked, he clearly said that he is not happy with the presentation as there was an absence of documents and papers on the progress of work in the central schemes in Meghalaya.
Tudu said that he would further check on the departments in Meghalaya and check the ground scenario of the progress made.
Reacting to allegations of corruption on the ruling NPP-led MDA government in various schemes and projects, Tudu said that so far he has not got any document or complaint regarding any sort of corruption in any central scheme project.
However, he said that he would definitely look into the matter if anything comes along his way.
Bisheswar Tudu, who is also the Minister of State for tribal affairs, also reacted to the allegations of tribal lands within Meghalaya being transferred to Assam under the recent border deal.
Talking on the matter, Tudu said that he has heard about these reports and assured that the ministry would look into the matter if need be.
