The five children found in Rimpu Bagan the farmhouse belonging to Tura MDC and Meghalaya BJP Vice President Bernard Marak have been rescued and kept under observation.

Further, Ampareen informed that among the rescued children, one is 3 years old while others are teenagers between 15 and 17.

It was on July 22 that the police raided Rimpu Bagan and found many young boys and girls openly drinking on the premises, inside the rooms as well as inside the vehicles.

The five children which include 4 boys and one girl were also found locked inside a dingy cabin-like unhygienic room and were later handed over to the District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) for safe custody.
