Poor roads to Agartala triggers Fuel crisis

Tripura capital Agartala is reeling under severe fuel crisis. Poor road condition along the stretch of Assam-Agartala National Highway has affected the movement of fuel tankers leading to the crisis.

With ongoing construction activities, heavy downpour has worsened the conditions. But during this time of crisis, the Tripura government is contemplating on receiving fuel supply from Bangladesh.
In this regard, the Tripura government is in touch with the Centre.

Chief Minister of Tripura Dr Manik Saha has taken up the matter with the centre. In the meantime vehicle owners of Agartala made beelines in the oil pumps of the city for petrol and diesel. Many have expressed their apprehensions if such a situation persists then Agartala may suffer acute fuel shortage.
