Assam Police busts terror module in Morigaon; One suspected jihadi nabbed

In a major crackdown on terror in Assam, the state police busted a terror module operating in Morigaon.

As per the latest inputs, the terror module has been operating from a madrassa and allegedly been planning major attacks in the state.

The Assam Police, based on specific intel, nabbed a suspected jihadi identified as Mufti Mustafa who had been running the Jami-ul- Huda Madrassa in Moirabari.

In fact, it is also learned that Mustafa had been in close contact with Amiruddin Ansari of the Bangladesh-based Ansarullah Bangla Team, and had been minting money from him on a routine basis.

And not just this, the police had also seized several incriminating documents from Mufti Mustafa’s possession, along with mobile phones, bank passbooks, and more.

Meanwhile, the police nabbed another linkman identified as Abbas Ali from Goalpara yesterday. The linkman is accused of giving shelter to Mehboob, a hardcore cadre of ABT, who is reportedly absconding at the moment.

The Assam police are on the hunt to nab Mehboob soon.
