Centre earmarks Rs.1600 crore for upgrading Imphal-Moreh road

The Centre has sanctioned a whopping Rs. 1600 crore for four-laning of the Imphal-Moreh road. Manipur CM N Biren Singh informed this during the flagging off of Road to London
The Centre has sanctioned a whopping Rs. 1600 crore for four-laning of the Imphal-Moreh road.
Manipur CM N Biren Singh informed this during the flagging off of Road to London 2018, a car rally across 18 countries. The Imphal-Moreh road is crucial as it connects the region with ASEAN countries and hence the Centre has earmarked funds for upgrading the road.
The Chief Minister also said that road trips such as the Road to London 2018 will help in promoting Northeast. 29 participants including 8 women in 15 cars have embarked on the 49 days journey.
The participants are all set to head towards Myanmar, Thailand and other Asian countries before finally reaching their destination London on June 2.
