Fruit diplomacy is back between Tripura and neighboring Bangladesh. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Thursday sent a hundred packets of the state’s special queen pineapples to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The packets that were sent through the Agartala Integrated Checkpost will reach the Bangladesh PMO through the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.

Noteworthy here is that earlier in 2021, former Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb had started the tradition of gifting the state’s renowned fruits to prominent personalities.
